Our answers will be varied and will only show that there are all kind of people here. This is an open place and it's nobody's job to welcome anyone.
It's up to you to make yourself welcomed, comfortable and to join in.

Again, you will find that some people "hate" and "love" palestinians or others. just like some palestinians hate and Love Lebanese or others.

I suggest, you drop the defensive approach and try to know everyone here. we are very loveable people. But if you are a female just try to stay away from ghannouge she's already spoken for.

Hi Cecili, welcome.
To answer your questions:
1. Even if your Mom was born in Lebanon, if she doesn't have a ID card or passport then she is not considered Lebanese (officially) but she is kinda Lebanese cuz her Grandmother is. But here in Lebanon, you can't get the nationality from just being born here.
2. Some Lebanese might not like Palestinians so much because some of them came to Lebanon in 1968 and started movements and militias, they took over pieces of Lebanese territories and set out camps where the Lebanese authorities had no jurasdiction. then there was the war of 1975 which was caused by a group of Palestinians shooting on a bus and church in a Christian neighborhood killing many people. And things escalated from there on...plus nowadays Palestinians are harboring terrorist organisations in their camps.

Cecili
1- Your mum is Lebanese indeed
2- The following answer is not a personal opinion. It is a frank answer to your interrogation :
* Lebanese do not HATE Palestinians... They Pity them, specially those who had taken weapons to fight Israel from Tripoli (400Kms)
* Palestinians have used weapons against the Lebanese people in 1975
* The 1975 war waged by Arafat in lebanon, had a target : Replace Palestine by Lebanon. Lebanese are very sensitive to this issue.
* Palestinians abroad with Lebanese Laissez-passer pretend they are Lebanese, and hate to say theu are Palestinians
For all these reasons .....

Still, and now it is a personal opinion :
Lebanese people and Palestinian people (not the militias), co-exist perfectly, live together, marry from each other, and have a lot in common. This is the most important sweetie.

Dont even ask if you are welcome or not here. Thanks for asking, and get the answer with a very wide open mind !
God Bless you

Welcome....i think that whether ur mum is considered Lebanese or not is up to her...if she feels like she's Lebanese then she is...it's not up to us to judge her nationality.
I'm not Lebanese yet i was welcomed here in this category by everyone...so i'm sure ur welcome to join in no matter where ur from as long as u are willing to treat us in the same way u'd like to be treated....they say that others won't remember what u say to them or do to them/for them...but they will remember how u make them feel.
Personally i like Lebanese and Palestinians...i like evryone...after all we are all humans. But i like and support the Palestinians because of all the things they have been through...my heart bleeds for them...and being kurdish i know the feeling of having ur country taken away from u and the feeling that beholds u...especially when people ask u where are u from...u can't say Palestian or Kurdistan because they simply don't exist on maps yet as a country.

I forgot to say that there are good and bad people everywhere...when u think about the angels u will see that Satan was also an angel who did not obey God therefore, God got rid of him from Heaven...this shows that even in the angel land there are good and bad angels if u know what i mean lol. Sorry i couldn't think of a better example.

Again welcome to this category.

look dear, about your mothers passport issue we do not have to authority to judge the situation in here, if you Mom deserve a Lebanese passport than the Lebanese government will give it to her proudly, as your second question, why is that the Lebanese people don't like the Palestinians, must be a reason for that, let me ask you this, if you Invited some one in to your home in a time that they need your help, after taking care of this persons in your house, you make them so welcome, you make them so comfy, ounce they are on there feet, you expect them they should thank you and leave, instead, this people they'll try to take your home away from you and put you out, now you tell me what do you think about such people, the picture here is for our guests the Palestinians, we invite them to Lebanon in time of there needs and now they are using all there power and effort to take Lebanon away from Lebanese people, in one word Palestinians are trouble makers, they don't belong in our country, now they have a country, they should go back to there mother land, if they like to fight or kill each other, than that is there business, just leave Lebanon in peace, let Lebanese people in peace.

well welcome

but as you said your mom was born here but she's of a palestinian background and originally from palestein

and palestinians are not allowed to have lebanese IDs
even though your grandma's mom was lebanese

and ....
Why do > lebanese < hate palestenian?

you say your mom was born in tripoli
now see what are palestenians doing to your mother's hometown
hundreds of lebanese soldiers are sacrificing their lives for lebanon's sake
but it's not taht we hate palestenians
i mean it's not as if all palestenians are fighting in tripoli

we do understand and respect you

+ i don't think you live here in lebanon
or in an arab country
if you would just live here ....i'm sure you'll change your mind 100%....
there are rude people all over the world
and hypocritic attitude is found ALMOST everywhere

but it's just that we arabs are the center of attention
so we get convicted with anything as a whole ...
they don't say this group of arabs did it
they say the arabs did it
.....this crap make me speechless

and again welcome to lebanon category
but just try to fix those ideas of yours
i'm really welcoming you with all my heart

your mother is lebanese and may be palestinian depending on history going way back (there was a lot of movement back in the day)

why do the lebanese hate palestinians, someone above stated some reason for possible dislike. It needs to be said though that the lebanese are not helping their image when some in office and tv claim that they "are not arab" and then proceed to speak in french.

be proud of your heritage (your fathers too).
