This movie is really outstanding! I am not telling this because it has Shahrukh Khan in it, who is my favourite actor, but, this is the fact guys!
We needed a film like this to really enhance ourselves as true Indians! C'mon! Hockey is our Natoinal sport, and we should be proud of it!
The tag line of this movie is : "Sometimes winning is everything!"
And, believe it or not, this is the truth and we should face it!
Shahrukh has done a wonderful job in this movie and so has the bunch of girls! It has a well written script, good story, good dialogues, good actors and combinations, a good director and a good producer. It has all the elements in itself!
This is a "wake up" call for our Sports Authorities........
If you have'nt watched it yet, then please move forward and really say "Chak De! India" whole-heartedly!
And, if you are not an SRK fan, then, watch this movie, your opinon will definitely change!

See it for yourself!
My rating : 5 on 5!

idk indian sports have slipped over the years
being half Indian i watch cricket and stuff
but yeah the thing to be recognized globally you have to be good
like Indian didn't even take part in FIFA world cup a couple years ago
and yet everywhere you go theres people playing it
and we play grass hockey
and i don't think were even noticed for it
winning is not everything
also being a hard core sports person
you have to know when you lost because if you win all the time you get cocky but it's gona take more then a movie to wake up india from its sports problems

I'm totally in agreement. Nothing's more exciting than watching this movie(OK, I can't ignore the fact that I'm a die-hard fan of SRK but the story is really good and inspiring. Makes me proud of my country). Apart from rating the movie 5 on 5, I shall also rate your review and opinion 5 on 5!

Yes. You are right. It is quite a decent movie with a different subject. Its treatment is very good. Direction is excellent. Icing on the cake is SRK's acting. For the last 8 years he was doing same type of role of a lover boy and repeated himself in every film. Thanks God, he did this movie and do justice in an excellent role by underplaying it instead of overact.

These type of more movies should be made with unusual themes. I will give this movie 4 points.

CHAK DE INDIA
A REAL WINNER ALL THE WAY!
CAST: Well,to tell the truth it’s a one man army all the way-ShahRukh Khan.
RATING:10 out of 5
The SRK-Yash Raj combo is back again with a bang. There’s only a small difference, this time there won’t be any running around trees or any female protagonists in chiffon designer saris. Let me tell you, there’s no gloss or glamour, this film is heavy on content, and scores big time. Chak De India is a pure, sure to win thorough entertainer without any doubt.
The movie is based on the life of ex-Indian goalkeeper *** hockey coach Mir Ranjan Negi. The only difference is that Shah Rukh Khan who plays Kabir Khan is a centre-forward captain, not a goalkeeper, who misses a crucial penalty in the dying minutes of the game against Pakistan. He is branded a traitor, as images of him shaking hands with the Pakistan skipper are flashed around by an impudent photographer. It was an innocent handshake, a sporting gesture, blown out of proportion. The media goes ballistic and merciless.Kabir is branded a traitor and he is banned from the game.
After all this melodrama the movie jumps seven years and opens into a board conference where some foolish (and fat) board officials are taking the Mickey out of the women’s hockey team. In this board room scene the pathetic state of hockey in our country is reflected. One board member of the women's hockey federation, tells a fellow administrator to accompany the team as a coach stating, "It's a nice time for a family holiday”! Here steps in Kabir Khan, the messiah of the Women’s team, bent on reinstating his honour and wiping out all the black marks thrust on him. The board readily agrees to appoint him as the coach and SRK is grinning from ear to ear.
The next day the players selected for the team arrive in one’s and two’s to the registration field (which is also the place where the Ram Lila troupe practices) where they are supposed to practice for the coming World Cup. The bunch of squabbling hockey players gather from different states across India and the registration scenes are the most comic ones seen in a long time. The diverse group of gals win over the audience instantly with their bizarre ways.SRK carries himself impeccably throughout the movie and looks completely omniscient while radiating an aura in the coach’s uniform, damning, and sometimes pushing his wards against the wall with his gruelling training techniques. Courtesy his taxing ways of training them, there is even a signature bill passed about by the players demanding his removal! But, soon the hatchet is buried and they play their heart out. The team suffers a few set backs dropped in their way by the board but SRK bails them out of all troubles. After weeks of rigorous training with SRK the team flies out to Australia to compete in the WC.
The developed infrastructure in the Aussie camp is worth watching and underlines the pathetic condition of Indian sports. The Indian team surges forward into the finals with a solitary defeat to six time world champs Australia in their opening match. When the matches are played, it is as if you are watching a real match sitting in stadium instead of a movie. The ‘70 minutes’ speech by SRK on the eve of the final is scintillating and inspiring to the last degree. Most of the audiences clutch their seats tightly during the final match eventually won by the Indian squad. The movie culminates with SRK getting back his honour and washing away all the gibberish against him.
On the whole, this movie represents the dismal and pitiable condition in which sports other than cricket are in India. It also gives out the message that even one man with a steely grit can make a world of difference.SRK stands out with his blockbuster performance and the girls who act out the roles of various players also showcase their immense talent. I would like to conclude by saying that this flick is a must watch for every Indian and will carve a niche for itself among the most inspiring and eye-opening movies of all time.Till then,I would just say, ‘Chak De India!’.

sorry to bust your bubble gal, but hockey is as much a national sport as K3G was an action film.
I don't mind the sentiment behind the movie, but it's time to actually do something than watch movies like chak de!india and say, with tears in our eyes.. "Mera Bharat mahaan!"
prove it instead of saying it only. get out and do sumthing!!
'bout the movie, haven't watched it, exams going on!
