oh i could go on for hours!!! My mother has to be the best example of this, her mother whom she had nothing to do with, was ill with Cancer and as i had no problem with my grandma looked after her after her husband died and then through the cancer until she eventually passed away.
However when it came to the will my grandma had left me 15,000 and my mother 15.000 each to be fair, my mother went absolutly beserk saying that she should have had all the money, even though she had no contact with her mother for years and had treated her really badly!! I offered to save my relationship with my mother to give her my 15.000 but she refused saying you keep it but i won't forget this.
In all this i was actually in partnership with my mother in a small arts and crafts shop so you can imagine the tension, then one day she finally admitted she had been wrongand asked if we could put it all behind us and i was of course very glad to hear this, however about a year later the business got into finacial trouble she had not been paying the bills and had been hiding invoices from me so i did not know they were due. Then one day she announced she was leaving and walked out i tried to make contact with her but she ignored me, and then got a job with one of my competitors!!! I soon realised the business was in severe finacial ruin when vans started to roll up for stock out of the shop, to cut a story short, i was forced into bancruptcy and lost everything!!! i heard along the grapevine that my own mother had been saying well it serves her right sheshould not have been left that money from my mother and was glad i would have to use it to pay off the creditors.
So you see i have lost everything I can't even have credit for a pencil!!! i have now no mum or dad and do not get to see my handicapped sister who i was heavily involved with. All because my grandma left me some money in her will, so yes it does bringout ugliness in families andnow i hope she rots in
Hell!!!!

When my mother's mother died about 14 yrs ago
My mother is born and raised in Germany, she has an older brother and her father was in poor health but still alive at the time.
i am born and raised in America...
German customs are a bit different, as it was explained to me by my mother ... ugh..its a long and disgusting story
bottom line... there were alot of things i found out about my family i was not aware of and it tore the family apart

I have more than once. My grams passed away about a month ago and her kids looked like vultures fighting over a piece of meat. It was really sad that they thought material things were so important when my grams memory should have been the most important thing.

Never, and I hope it stays that way. No family member of mine that I know of has died in the 17 years I've been alive.

Haven't seen real ugly yet, as far as I can tell, my family members are all successful, and aren't concerned with the more petty things.

I have seen greed in other people's families where they were arguing over who gets what, and that was before the person had died.

Sometimes it still surprises you even when we know that it's going to happen. It's happens in most cases! Sad when you figure out what it's all about! I have always felt as if they where still with me in spirit and maybe could see what I am doing and that is how I have tried to act.

I know of it,and it's not pretty.
It is a real shame to see a once happy family so close and to just fall apart over money and selfishness.

I have when my grandpa died my step-g-ma signed all of the money & things over to her son & left my dad & his biological brother & sister w/ nothing of their dad's. Then when my uncle died he left everything to his wife & his daughters from another marriage freaked b/c they thought they should have everything.....I swear what is wrong w/ people it isn't the money or material things that are important. It is the loss of a loved one that really matters ....just my opinion
