The red tailed hawk is a scared bird and if you have one that follows you, count your blessings the hawk give the person vision above most humans and it is wise and will teach you to look to more lofty understanding of your situation. and the hawk also is your animal guide to help you though bad times trust your feeling when it came to hawk medicine

I am not Native American, but I did have a red tailed hawk follow me around immediately after my grandfather died. I don't know if it's a spiritual thing, perhaps a guardian angel or relative reincarnated, but it was comforting to think that that hawk was my grandfather watching over me.
