The so-called 'conservatives' who rant here are....
1. So Ignorant that they do not understand that all of the freedoms they enjoy were brought to them by liberals.
2. So hard hearted that they view the $50 to $100 of their yearly taxes that go to social welfare programs to feed, and support poor children as redistribution of wealth to undeserving lazy people.
3. So blinded by ideology and dogma that they would rather spend $3.00/gallon for their 12mpg, $35,000 SUV than be caught dead in a 50mpg, $22,000 Prius and have anyone think they have concern for the environment.
I could go on and on, but the point is that the Ann Coulter wannabes here hardly represent thoughtful conservatism.

I am not against liberals as a whole, but certain ones I am very much against. Let me share my opinion on a few things and see how well they are accepted.
Liberals are for affirmative action. It gives minorities and women an advantage when looking for a job, a promotion etc. Liberals claim that it's because there are so many hate filled Republican businessmen out there, that women and minorities will be unfairly discriminated against without Affirmative Action. I say that's untrue. Yes, there are some bigots out there who might put their hate above their finacial interests, but they are few in number and not likely to employ a lot of people anyway. Most businesses want who is best going to do the job and make the business as profitable as it can be. By forcing Businesses to choose less qualified people, you are basically telling women and minorities that they can't cut it competing with white men head to head, and that is untrue and unfair to women and minorities.
Liberals support Gay Marriage. I feel that gay people should have every right, priviledge and resposibility as anyone else, just don't call it marriage. Marriage is a Sacrament, and to allow gays to "be married" violates the separation of Church and State.
Liberals believe that there should be more restrictions on gun ownership without enforcing the laws already on the books. In fact, they want guns outlawed entirely. Doing so will not rid the country of guns, it will only limit their possesion to the unlawful.
Liberals support abortion. While I do not feel, as a man, that I should have a strong voice here, it should be left to the women to decide, I do have something to say. Abortion supporters claim that a human fetus in early stages, looks the same as a dolphin fetus, or a gorilla fetus, and is therefore, not truly human. Outwardly, this is true. Any examination at the cellular level, however, reveals the number of pairs of Chromosomes and identifies the fetus as human. If left unharmed and providing for no miscarriage, it will develop into a human baby, not a dolphin or a gorilla.
Liberals believe in redistribution of wealth by taxing those who either already have money, or are working hard to acquire it, and funding a lot of social programs to those who either cannot work hard, or choose not to. For those who cannot work, I fully support programs for them. There are far to many who simply prefer to take free money from the state.
Liberals believe that not complying with a cease fire agreement and pursuing a WMD program is "nothing". Even Bill Clinton and John Kerry believed Saddam had WMDs, and we saw him use them on at least one occasion on the Northern Kurds.
Liberals believe that a sitting President, perjuring himself in a lawsuit brought against him by an ordinary citizen, is a private and personal matter. I disagree.
I'm sure I could go on, but you get the picture.

The whole purpose and programs of liberalism seem well intentioned, and did achieve success during the civil rights movement, but that was a particular time and place, and also the pinnacle of their success. The record since then has shown drastic failure. The welfare industrial complex being the most obvious example. Giving handouts to healthy people who lay around and make babies and have no intention of working is wasteful and counterproductive. The main purpose of the liberal side is to fashion themselves as righteous David with the slingshot, facing off against evil Goliath who represents the pre-existing white anglo saxon male establishment. They will remind you constantly that Goliath doesn't care about you because Goliath won't give you a free ride.
Self reliance. Not placing the status quo before work ethic and ambition.. THE MOST BASIC ELEMENTS of what makes this country a land of opportunity DO NOT MATTER ONE IOTA to the liberal side. They want you to become a soft, spoonfed, flippant, idiotic parrot. Liberals won't rest until they control everything by having taken away the credibility and freedom of speech of the entire capitalist working class, and they've begun their quest by demonizing the white powerbase regardless of what good these people have done, spoken or taught. This is why many Conservatives see liberals and their drive by media as a culture of ignorance, self hatred, and deviance from the common good. Many fear that it is a totalitarian movement either in the form of conspiracy, or a sleeping dragon.

How can you even blame all the problems on the president? In the last eight years this country has experienced war, massive hurricanes, and the worst attack on US soil since Pearl Harbor. I'm not saying there haven't been mistakes made, but you cannot say for a second that economy recessions and other problems after terrorist attacks and natural disasters is the fault of the president. And why do you say it's a war about nothing? Liberals talk about stopping the genocide in darfur, but they don't seem to have cared if it continued in Iraq under their evil dictator. Even if you don't agree with this war, it is still necessary that we win.I wish people would stop blaming every problem under the sun on one man.

I am opposed to liberalism because their answer to everything is increased government and increased control of our lives. 50 years ago the stated goal of socialists (liberals) was to control the press and the education system. Education today is much more touchy feely and less and less basic education. No one is taught individual responsibility. Everyone is just taught to rely on the government. I don't like the stance of many Republican Senators because they are too liberal. I don't like the stance of any Democratic candidate for president because they all want to drastically increase the size of government. I think the salvation of the country lies in passing the FairTax act which repeals the 16th amendment, eliminating the IRS and their intrusion into our lives, and closing down the Federal Reserve board and regaining control of our monetary system. We need to control our borders and eliminate the drain on our financial system caused by providing services to non-citizens. As socialist as we have become I don't see anyone fleeing the country like they do from other countries to come here.

The current Republican candidates are extremely liberal big government politicians. There are no conservatives running right now. George W Bush is considered liberal by the modern conservative.
We do not like him any more than liberals do.

1970's for example
Let's stop building oil refineries and work towards developing methods to cut down on fuel consumption as well as other options we can use for fuel.
Cut all the funding... Pass laws to legislate not building anymore... Then sit idle on it for 30 years and wonder why gas prices are at an all time high.
How can I say, "Think before you speak" any easier? They enact laws and legislation without thinking about the future. Well, that's not fair. They think about it but stall actions in identifying suitable ways to achieve any goals.
If you say republicans do the same thing... So be it.
The dilemma isn't finding out who's fouled it up. The dilemma is our government is supposed to be smarter and better educated than 13-yr-old children but by the looks of their results their actions fail more than they are achieved.

As a Libertarian, I agree with Liberals on a lot of social issues, but with Conservatives on a lot of economic issues.
One difference between them though, is that Liberals tend to be closed-minded.
If you happen to be a Liberal, you just thought "No, we're not! They are!" Do you realize that this just proved my point? If you were open-minded, you'd have thought "How do you mean that?"
Fact is that in most of my conversations with Conservatives, where we disagree on social matters, even if they remain unconvinced, they tend to listen to my side, and then more or less politely say "I hear you, but I don't agree."
With Liberals, they stop listening when they stop agreeing. They won't listen to the evidence that contradicts their belief on the USSC's actions in 2000. They won't listen to contradictory positions on global warming. They won't listen to the evidence on the efficacy of federal social projects. They won't listen to logic on the outcome of socializing medicine. They won't read the Patriot Act for themselves, nor listen to the facts from someone who has. They don't even care about the facts on the Iraq war.
Often times Liberals will make totally ridiculous statements that aren't even worth challenging, such as "He has killed the economy, on more than one occassion." Even if the economy weren't in good shape by any measure except the lifestyle one can lead with government subsidy as a sole means of income, killing anything twice is definitionally impossible.
That's why people are against Liberals. They are closed-minded fools.
Nothing personal. I just don't really have a lot of time to waste with people who have no interest in applying logic to facts.

I am totally against liberals. Liberals want the government to run everything. Liberals want to run the government. Tax and spend is all they know. Liberals caused Social Security, Medicare, Medicaid, welfare, social programs that cost money and don't work very well.
Mr. Bush has turned a recession into the greatest economy in the world. We have more people working now, than ever in the US. Wages are the highest they have ever been. Unemployment in my county is at 3.8%. It does not get any better than this. And you claim it is bad...typical liberal tactic.
Mr. Bush did not start a war. He finished what Saddam Hussein started, 14 years earlier. Twisting history...typical liberal tactic.
The Republican candidates are arguing amongst themselves about who is the most conservative. Liberal candidates won't even use the "L" word in their campaigns...typical liberal tactic - don't be honest about what you believe.
