Greetings...
Here's a link for a wire welder that uses a flux cored wire.

MIG type welder means Metal Inert Gas and needs a bottled gas - usually. But nowadays these lil' flux cored units are great for around the home shop.
Good luck

MIG welding is very easy, does not require endless practice. Stick is hard to do, and must be practiced to keep your skill up. For a homeowner, MIG is the way to go, you can get a "gasless" MIG welder that runs on 120 V from Sears or Home depot pretty cheap. Craigslist usually has a few (at least in my area of the country) used going cheap from people who upgrade the 120V home project units to a more powerful 220V system.

Most "general home" welders are 110 volt. These can be purchased for about $200. I have not seen a stick welder for that price. MIG is better for home use since you will probably be doing some thin metals also and stick is not as good for that.

Mig will make welding thin metal easier. Both will weld the thicker metal. I use a 225 amp arc welder around the place and find it to be fine. I would like to have a mig, but can't justify spending the money for one.

Wire welding, commonly called MIG welding, uses a gun that feeds a solid steel wire through an electrically charged contact tip. MIG welding is best used for interior work and is common for materials between 22 gauge and ¼-inch thick. See more at: http://www.proconstructionguide.com/welding/
