Any laundry powder will be damaging to cotton fabrics if hand or machine washed.
As the powder dissolves on fabric, it burns the cotton (that's why your dryer fills up with lint).

To increase fabric life - Dissolve powder in water first then add the washing, wash in warm or cold water followed by two rinses.

To save water use a neutral detergent followed by only one rinse.

Good luck!

With cotton the washing machine is not what does the damage to your clothes. It is actually the dryer. You can wash by hand or machine but don't put them in the dryer. Dry on a line or a drying rack to preserve the shape and color. You can also use a gentler detergent also. Tide and Cheer work clean really well but will fade your colors faster. Hope this helps.

I use the washing machine.

As long as you separate them by colors and use the correct cycle they will be fine!

Dry on a lighter heat setting so they do not shrink!
