Dr Russell O'Brien and his partner Jane Tanner live there and were holidaying there.
Independent of them, since they werent in the same group, another couple happened to be holidaying there at the same time. Mr and Mrs Gorrod who happen to live just two streets away in Exeter. They are friends of the O'Briens and their hire car was recently sought by police for analysis.
And then Robert Murat, the chief suspect in the case, was in Exeter just days before both sets of family headed out to the Algarve on holidays.
I didn't realise Exeter was such a hive of activity?

if so i live not far from there i love exeter.
they have a crap football though.
but its great for shopping and theres always somthing going on.

Aha! I see it all! Exeter is the key to this whole case. Maybe the police ought to be interviewing people there, or digging up any new patios that have been laid in the last 3 months.
