I went to http://www.hippy.com/hippyway.htm to see what kind and type of Hippie you were referring too. Since the "WORD" Hippie has changed to different meanings thru out the years.

My belief a Hippie is someone you can find in all different religions - it depends really how they conform and rebell against that religion which defines them as a hippie -

Me personality - considering the clothes I wear and my beliefs system being out of whack from the norm - I have to say I wouldn't mind being called that until all my hair is snow white (not the cartoon charater).

I think in the vast array of things I meet be called, derisively or otherwise, hippie will never come close to the top 10.

Not sure if I should feel good, bad, or indifferent about that, so I'll go with indifferent.

i'm with you in thinking that is extra of an insult, whether that isn't any longer the way it became meant. women everybody is impossibly mushy approximately weight, so we are vulnerable to contemplate something different than the observe "skinny" an insult. Even a guy who appreciates curves is familiar with he can offend any woman by way of his decision of words. As loopy as this sounds, maximum white adult men i understand evaluate "thick" a adverse concern (or they are asserting they do, whether they are for sure interested in women people who do no longer resemble stick figures), yet maximum black adult men i understand evaluate it a extreme compliment. yet whether a black guy tells me i'm "thick" with an appreciative smile on his face, i can't help yet flinch in horror because of the fact I pay attention the observe "fat" instead of "thick." I desire i ought to experience flattered, yet I honestly do no longer. by way of the way, once you're 5'9" and a hundred sixty five pounds, you extremely do no longer meet the standards required to be considered fat! You sound such as you're proportioned the way a woman must be -- finished with breasts and hips. To hell with all the genetic freaks passing themselves off as supermodels! 2 days devoid of meals and that they are lifeless of hunger! And who might have the final snigger then? the genuine women human beings will!

Well, when people call me it, it's meant to be an insult, because i like heavy metal music, but it's not really offensive to me because if they realised that hippies are people into world peace and hugging trees... then they'd realise how pathetic it was that they even opened their mouth!

An icon of my generation, Eric Cartman from South Park, uses it as an insult. So I would consider it to be one, too.
