Definitely tell your mom on the morning what is going on if for no other reason than so that she can monitor how frequently this is happening.

Eat more bananas. The natural potassium will help with both growing pains and any a side muscle spasms.

Growing pains occur when the bones get going faster than the associated muscle and is usually at around or a joint and most often occurs at night time because that is when you do most of your growing and healing.

When you get these pains go down a check list:

Did I do anything to earn this?

Did I drink enough water today?

Has this happened in the same spot on the other side recently?

How long has this lasted?

Having these answers and more will key you into what is going on better with your body.

And, ultimately, talk to your doctor if this is just way to much or happens way to frequently!

Could be a muscle spasm such as from sitting in one position for a long time.

Please let your mom know what is going on and in the mean time try to stretch it gently to see if that helps. Also, please get this checked by your doctor to see what they think is going on.
