I've never heard of those either but they dont sound liek they work so thats probably why:) An option would be to go on the Pill, when on the Pill you don't actually have periods, you have a 'withdrawal bleed' (not spotting). They're generally shorter and lighter than most womens periods. They happen during the no-pill week, or placebo or sugar pills, and you can skip this week and not have a withdrawal bleed at all. It doesn't really serve a purpose other than easing your mind, scientists who invented the pill in the 50's thought women would be more inclinded to take them if it included a period as it seemed more natural.
Depending on which pill your on you can take the active pills back to back and skip your period completely. But the pill is good for making your period shorter in all aspects. Hope I helped!

Those won't work. Sex can make your period start a few hours sooner than it normally would, but won't make it stop. I've never heard that bathing or drinking liquor did either. Hmm.

My period used to last that long too or sometimes a day or two longer until I went on hormonal contraceptives. The pill makes your period shorter because the hormones in the pill (or other hormonal options) thin the lining of your uterus. A thinner uterine lining = less to shed each month. This effect also reduces cramps. Since starting 'the pill', my period lasts 3 or 4 days.

You can also safely use hormonal contraceptives to skip your period and have it whenever it's convenient as long as you remember to have at least 4 periods a year.

No, it is normal for some women to have their periods be 7 days. The normal cycle is 3-7 days.

If your period is causing you a great deal of problem such as super heavy flow and cramping so bad that you can't function then I would recommend having this checked out by your doctor to see what they think is going on.

chinese herbs help a lot!!! See an herbalist or acupunturist and tell them you have long periods and they will give you herbs to make your periods lighter and less painful. I used to have heavy periods that lasted 7-9 days low they're light and 3-5 days =)
