The closest that I have ever gotten to walking out on a movie was "Battlefield Earth" . The movie was like watching a train wreck. The only reason I stayed was the hope that something interesting would happen at the end. Boy was I wrong.. I would have done better by just throwing my money into the toilet where the movie should have been.

I've never walked out of a movie. I read about movies and have a decent idea of what I would like and not like, so I never find myself in that position. I think the real factor is the fact I have to shell out $10 for a ticket, $5 for a soda, so I am careful. Now, if I couldn't turn off the TV, but had to walk out of my house due to a movie on cable I tried to watch, that would be a completely different story. Then again, I didn't have to pay $15 to watch it, so my standards for trying to watch are lower.

I'm 30 years old, like to think I'm little past being offended by a movie. Why would you spend money to watch a film called Natural Born Killers and then be surprised and offended by it's "violence or confusion of plot?"

I went out for a movie alone one afternoon at a multiplex. I sat down and saw the stretched out line on the screen - "long, long, ago, in a galaxy far, far away" and I thought to myself, ("Oh no. It's a kiddie movie.")
I gave it ten minutes but I could see that it wasn't going anywhere. I was in my late twenties and I felt embarassed to be seen coming out of the movie. But I snuck into the movie next door. It didn't get any better.
As far as I could see, the new movie was one of those really hokey boxing movies where the silly, choreographed boxers hit so hard that any one of their punches would have killed any man alive on the spot. Or any mammal for that matter.
I chalked it up to experience and did something else with the day. And that's how I happened to walk out of both 'Star Wars' and 'Rocky' in their first fifteen minutes.

Due to the price of movies, I am quite selective these days. But I can remember a few in my younger days. Run stands out in my mind because of the symbolic title. Avoid this if at all possible.

While there are some movies I wanted to walk out of, I don't think I've walked out of a movie yet. If I'm paying for that movie, I'm going to stay regardless of how bad it is.

I've only walked out of a movie once: The Postman Always Rings Twice. I tend to stick it out to the bitter end. :)

Sadly, I stayed until the end of Munich, but I was seriously about to fall asleep. That movie was both terrible and loooong. I really really wanted to leave, but I payed too much money to see it, so I stayed.
