I always see people bidding on an item when there is 1, 2, 3,4, even 5 days left on the auction. Do people not understand that this just drives the price way up? The best way to do it is to hold off on bidding until the last 10 min. or so, that way the price is not way up there with still 2 days left on auction.

I have gotten some good bargains by bidding right at the last second and just a couple pence's above the highest.... it must really peeve the bidders who have been trying to outbid each other.

Hee hee! I often bid on something with days to go - never go back and check it though and I often win things at very low prices. Generally though I snipe at about 3 seconds.
