It sounds like something the pill would do. I have had a similar experience about 2 & 1/2 months ago. I had really bad nausea and vomitting for 4 days in a row right after I took my pill and had a lot of bleeding. My bleeding lasted for 8 days starting off lightly then becoming heavier, and then turning brown towards the end of it. My doctor said that it was probably because the pill didn't get the chance to become effective before I vomitted. About a week after the bleeding stopped I had bleeding again (that lasted 3 days) and didn't skip any pills or had any vomitting although my doctor said that breakthrough bleeding while being on the pill (especially a low dose pill) can cause this. After that week I started my placebo pills and had no period or bleeding. My doctor then put me on another type of birth control pill (also low dose) and it did a similar thing. I'm currently off the pill at least til I've seen my gyno on Friday to see what he says.

If you're unsure and worried about it, go see your doctor and see what he/she says, it might even be a hormone imbalance you have.

Good luck :)

Sounds normal, like breakthrough bleeding. Remember that when on the Pill you don't actually have a period. The time when you have the placebo pills isn't a real period its whats actually called breakthrough bleeding, you dont even have to take those pills. Its just because the scientists that refined the Pill in the 60's/70's nthought more women would take it if they included period pills in to make it seem more natural. From what I've heard, your protected during the breakthrough bleeding anyway.

I had Depo, too. From my experience I bled for a full blown 45 days after a month of Depo. The doctor said I should wait after 3 months, but I couldn't handle it anymore since the moisture kept giving me rashes on my thighs and pads were getting expensive to keep buying. My physician controlled the bleeding by actually putting me on the pill. She prescribed me 2 pills a day until the bleeding stopped. And it did stop after 10 days of taking it. Since Depo is progesterone and the pill has both progesterone and estrogen, I'm guessing the estrogen is the component to control the bleeding. And Depo has a strong strength of only progesterone, that's what screws us up. But anyway, ask your doctor for the pill to control the bleeding.

Yes, breakthrough bleeding (which can also be on the brown side which indicates old blood) can last 5 days or even longer til the body straightens itself out after getting back on schedule with the medication.

I would also recommend getting in touch with your doctor to see what they say.
