I have a 2003 saab. I had the check engine light just came out. All i can think about is that the last thing i have done is fill out the car with gas. Later that day I found out the fuel tank was open. I closed it but the ligth still on. I m not sure if the gas was not good because that was the first time i fill out my car from arco or it just i need to reset the computer because the tank was open. Any suggestions? Thanks

It came on because the evap system couldn't build any pressure with the cap off. After a predetermined amount of drive cycles, the light will go out if there are no faults, or you can have the code erased with a scanner.

The light probably came on because the fuel tank was open. Give it a couple days. The light should go away.

I had a check engine light come on because of a missing gas cap. After replacing the gas cap, it took 3 days for my check engine light to turn off.

You are right with the reset and that may some time. Make sure the gas cap is secure, also.

The gas cap was what I was going to suggest to check. These cars today tell you when you haven't "clicked" the gas cap closed.

confident it may be ok.yet once you intend on taking it to the keep i would not replenish the tank. If the motor vehicle is working ok and there seems to be no different issues flow forward.you only do no longer desire an entire tank of gasoline at a keep because of the fact sometimes you arise a sprint short. For what ever reason.Plus if for some reason they ought to pull the tank,it may be extra handy for the mechanic
