I mean both are about some some chick, both were popular, and both had catchy riffs in a soft core fashion. 0.o

That is one of the most insightful things I have read today, and my answer is a resounding YES!

Don't forget to compare the annoyance factor.

Aw man! I love listening to both songs on my Mp3 player!

But Hey There Delilah has more of a 'single guy trying to get his girlfriend with his guitar on a NYC subway' feel rather than the 'band who's trying to get this girl to do stuff with the toora loora toora loora aye' funk.

I wouldn't say Come on Eileen was soft core, either.

hell no! I hate that stupid song Come On Eileen. I'd rather stab my head with forks than to listen to Dexys Midnight Runners. I see no comparison of the 2 songs. Hey Delilah is at least tolerable to me. Thats just my take on it.

Hey There Delilah has a story behind it!!!!
in collage he told this girl he liked her and that he wrote a song for her, but he didn't. So he RECENTLY wrote it for her so she would believe him.
Dude, Plain White T's are the greatest thing since sliced bread.

They are very diffrent songs. The plain white t's make me feel special while Dixie and the midnight runners make me feel like a piece of meat.
