...well, my fellow "Grindhouse" fan, you might be in for a slight disappointment; not with the movie, mind you, which is far and above one of the best films released in 2007, but with the money grubbing ploy, the folks over at Dimension Films are pulling...

On September 18th, the second film of the "Grindhouse" theatrical presentation, "Death Proof", is being released separately, in a two-disc uncut version; the film being featured here, is the version which was reportedly shown overseas, with all the faux scratches and audio/visual jump cuts cleaned up, and the so-called 'missing reel' reinserted.

On October 16th, the first film of the "Grindhouse" theatrical presentation, "Planet Terror" is also being released separately, under the same conditions and presentation, as the "Death Proof" DVD...

Now I'm sure that this cool and all, for the squirmy restless wimps, who couldn't, or wouldn't sit through the entire three-hour-plus theatrical presentation (per the folks of at Dimension, this was the prime reason why "Grindhouse" supposedly failed at the box office), but for us die-hard devoted fans of the true version of "Grindhouse", we are being sold short, and will probably have to wait for the REAL version of the film, to make it's way to DVD...

...personally, I'm not going to get suckered again, into buying multiple versions of "Grindhouse", in much the same way as Dimension's ploy, with regards to "Kill Bill" (..paying twice at the theatres, for both parts of what was supposed to be an epic film, then doing the same for the DVD, and finally, forking over more dough in November, for the collector's DVD edition of "Kill Bill: The Whole Bloody Affair").

...as the theatrical version of "Grindhouse" is absolutely and irrevocably the only way to see this film, I am going to wait, with restless patience, until the true version of this film is finally released, before I pick up the DVD...

...if, along the way, I can convince others in doing the same, then so be it!!!

Yeah it won't be the same on dvd. You really had to have watched it with the audience, it was a lot of fun, which is the point. Entirely sensational.
