I got interested in reading that we use only 10% of our brain. I know now that is probably not true, but how can we increase the power our brain already has. I've heard memorizing things, expanding our vocabulary, and doing more activities that involve the side of our brain we are not most compatible with (like, I'm right brained, so I would do more left brained things)

well actually i believe it's more like 20%. at least that's what i last heard. i don't think it's up to us if we can increase how much of our brain that we use. i think using your brain like memorization and vocabulary is not expanding the percentage. the other 80% is things we don't do. memorization is something all humans do because it's the basic of learning...therefore that's in the 20%. something most humans can't do is telepathy. maybe some people truly can and are using more of a percentage. i think that's something you're blessed with by birth and not something you can try to achieve. but who knows?

Actually we use less than ten percent of our brains. This is the latest coming out of the studies in the last decade.
You work your brain like you work your muscular system. Work outs! Exorcise the brain with mental stimuli of an ecclectic source.
Learn a new language, work deep puzzles, study a completely different subject matter that you never thought you could do.
Zig when all others zag. That will keep you on your toes.

Exercise your brain, read and expand your perception of the World, do something positive to replace TV(learn a musical instrument, write, get a qualification), learn kindness and consideration, avoid alcohol like the plague, discover spirituality as a path to Self, discard and denounce crap, forget yesterday, exploit now and look forward to tommorrow.

You are capable of anything, believe that and the World is your oyster, dont take free advise, its only free because its worth nothing.Scrutinise critics, are they such a big deal to critisize you?

Success in life is just a matter of luck-ask any failure.

Start now!

Real Age, a health newsletter, has information on that. They even put out a game for PCs that helps us with that. There are also books on the subject. One I have is called "Brain Longevity." Another is called, "The Brain Workout Book," by Snowdon Parlette. I can't find the other book to give you the author's name.
