The Citizens Area Transit bus known as the Strip route will take you there for a fare of $2. You get the bus on the Las Vegas Boulevard side of the intersection of Fremont Street and Las Vegas Boulevard. However, for the sum of $5 you can purchase a 24-hour pass for the entire transit system. That way you will save money on a round trip and one way travel between those two points, besides letting you ride the other fifty routes in the system.

Walking is the cheapest but Fremont St. to Mandalay Bay will probably take you at least 2-3 HOURS to walk down the strip. If it's during the day when the sun is out and the sidewalks are crowded, give yourself at least 4 hours, if you think you can make it that long without dropping dead from dehydration.
The Deuce bus is $2 but will still take about 45 minutes to an hour or more, depending on the time of day and day of the week.
A cab will be about $20 but can do it in less than 10 minutes on the interstate if traffic is light.

Take "the Deuce". This is a double decker bus that just runs from Downtown up the strip to past Mandalay Bay and back all day and night. It is $2 for a one-way ticket but buy the $5 24hour pass and you can hop on and off all day at any stop on the Strip. It can get crowded but its so much better than trying to walk it, especially in the summer months. That's a hell of a long walk too, may be only 5 miles but it seems like your walking forever in the desert..oh wait, thats exactley what your doing. The public transportation is really good in Vegas.
If you get on at the very ends; downtown or Mandalay Bay, you will get a nice, comfortable, air conditioned seat. Get a top deck window seat for some great people watching too, both in and outside the bus. Have fun in Vegas!!

Well I am not sure whether the person saying it takes 3 hours or more to walk is walking backwards or takes 3 steps forward and 2 back! It takes little over an hour but if it is summer and daytime it is a real struggle due to the heat.
As mentioned the bus is easily the best option and cheap or you could mix up walking and the new mono, it depends on how much effort you want to use. At $2 you really can't miss with the bus.

A inn with the status of the Mandalay Bay can not and could no longer risk human beings staying there and complaining. i might say that they are going to be quiet and stable. Its a surprising inn with a brilliant recognition which it won't choose tarnished for the sake of a few renovations.
