Sometimes. For instance, if a guy thinks he's uber hot, and everyone else thinks he's uber hot, I may also start to believe that he is uber hot. For example, the guys on Seinfeld weren't the hottest, but they were really popular with the ladies. People in the show just seemed to think they were hot, so it started to seem believable, and no one ever really questions it.
Anyway, If a guy has everything else working for him but his looks aren't that of a typical heartthrob it wouldn't matter at all - the light from the inside tends to shine on the outside

well first impression is everything! simply said but true if you see the ugliest girl ever she might have the best personality over but you would never know because i wouldnt give them a chance now that is not to be mean but blunt... all girls can be attractive if they put some effort into it... so to answer you question there are limits like how long you have known them or how ugly they really are!

Yes, it can. When I was in the army there was this guy we called "UMW", ugliest man in the world. He would tell us how women loved him, because he knew how to talk to them and knew how to treat them. So we would laugh at him. So, he said wait till we go to the club tonight. I going to show all you pretty boys how to get a women. I leave with a women, but a lot of you will go home buy yourself. So, we went to the club that night and all eyes were on Haygood (UMW). We walked up to one woman and she ran from him. Everybody laughed at him, but he held up his arms like Okay, Okay, that's just one. He went up to another woman and she ran from him too. Once again everybody laughed at him, but Haygood did not give up. Finally, he asked someone to dance and the young woman dance with him and left with him. Even though, he was not the best looking man, Haygood convince himself that he was just as good looking as any other man. If you can convince yourself, the confidence you have in yourself others will see it also, and be convinced. Words are very powerful.

Steve Tyler from Aerosmith and Mick Jagger from the Stones are both ugly as all get out yet they have a certain charisma that people find attractive.

There are limits.
A great personality can really increase an average guys chances.
But there must be that physical attraction.
