I have this "friend" at work who I dont really have much in common with.. she's nice and all but I'm just not the kind of person who likes being followed around ALL the time..

She often suggests things like "let's both order the same for lunch".. I'm afraid she'll soon suggest to wear matching outfits... lol

I think you should tell her that you don't have anything in common and if you both do the same things at the same time it'll be boring.

easy.. instead of she followin ya around.. why dont you follow her around :)
and always order the same thing.. talk to people before she can talk too.. well.. treat her as close buddy but.. act like she's invincible when you with friends

hehe..

in few days.. i guess she will be annoyed :)

She idolizes you, looks up to you and wishes she was you. In a way it can get scary but you need to be tactful, people like this can get very weird if you just "run them off". Try telling her you like a lot of time to be by yourself or to just think. Also try handing her off to someone else.

Be firm with them. Tell 'em to stop following you like a lost little puppy cause it really scares you.

it's cool that she looks up to you that much and what not, but the homeless puppy syndrome can get old. this may be passive aggressive, but you could find out something that she hates, like a pet peeve, and keep doing it over and over again until you drive HER nuts.

Be tactful and say what you like to say to her. Don't give her false hopes b/c she might think you like her. Just say it in a nice way at least you've just been honest to her.
