Santa: "We Built This City" is about building a city on Rock and Roll. One down, millions left to go...

Ace: Most rap songs are about b****es, h**s, bling-bling, and having a hard knock life. Man... this is exhausting.

River Girl: Pearl Jam songs are about flannel shirts, goatees, and Columbine shootings.

Chair Wizard III (Damn): Unfaithful is about Rhianna being caught by Joey Greco.

Mavs_fan: Happy Birthday is about hoping the person whose birthday it is has a birthday that is happy. I don't know about any of the others.

Boomer: Yes, it's farting.

Clown: Smashing Pumkins songs are about emotions.

nico: Sin Tu Amor is about you love something? I think...

Jenn: Eminem lyrics are about being angry and emotional and violent and rap battles.

Anonymous: Lucy in the Sky with Diamonds is about a drawing done by a child.

...to be continued....

Most rap songs. It even takes me a while to find out what the name of the song is.

I think Rihanna's Unfaithful talks about her cheating on her boyfriend, and she has the choice to kill him physically or mentally, because he knows that she's cheating on him, but loves her, so he doesn't break up. So either way, it's a lose-lose situation. It's kind of an awkward subject, but hey, it's a good song! Ne-yo wrote it for her, so ask him! haha! just kiddin.

Many songs don't make sense to anyone except for the writer. You can google any lyrics to any song and read it like a story or a poem rather than a song, and it may help to make sense. good luck!

I don't like them anymore, but I was quite fond of Fleetwood Mac back in the 1980s. But OY that Stevie Nicks -- just appalling diction.

And though I've always like Elton John a lot, his diction sometimes leaves much to be desired.

Glad you asked.
Pow! by The Lovin' Spoonful has always sounded unfathomable to me. Here's what I got so far:

I've always been the guy with his finger in his nose when the passport picture gets taken
When the big kids took me out stealin' chickens it was me caught holdin' the bacon
When the tidal wave hits a hundred miles at sea I'm alway at the rail throwin' up

That's it.
Thanks in advance

Seether - The Gift Lyrics

Hold me now I need to feel relief
Like I never wanted anything
I suppose I'll let this go and find a reason I'll hold on to
I'm so ashamed of defeat
And I'm out of reason to believe in me
I'm out of trying to get by

I'm so afraid of the gift you give me
I don't belong here and I'm not well
I'm so ashamed of the lie I'm living
Right on the wrong side of it all

No. But some songs that make no sense are actually referring to drugs, such as, "Lucy in the Sky With Diomands" by John Lenon.

Breaking the Habit by Linkin Park. I sort of get it, but I have a feeling that there's a deeper meaning behind it that I'm not getting.
