Yes, if he's gay there will be a tiny rainbow flag tatoo behind his right ear lobe. You will need a magnifying glass to see it, so come prepared.

Um...signs....
Check out their DVD collection. Look at the way they dress, walk and talk. Watch closely, see who they flirt with.
Seriously - if in doubt, and you can, ask. It's better than second guessing them every time a guy or a girl walks past that they look at. And I'm sure this person, whoever they are, would appreciate it more if you just asked them instead of trying to guess for yourself. You never know, you could be wrong.

Usually they try to overcompensate by being especially masculine, but if they're trying to hide it, there might not be any good that comes from investigating this further, good luck all the same

Nope. All of those stereotypes that people talk about can easily be attributed to straight people, as well as gay folk. All you can do is ask. If they don't feel the great need to tell you "yes", then they are either straight or think it's none of your business.

You shouldn't be looking for signs, specifically if someone is trying to keep it a secret. People are entitled to their privacy, especially when it comes to their personal relationships, and they will tell you if and only if THEY choose to do so. By trying to "prove" something, you are disrespecting them.

Some people claim to have gaydar. I don't and I don't believe in it for that reason. There is no way to be sure unless you ask.
