George Harrison was the first solo artist of the Fab Four. His 1968 release was "Wonderwall Music".
John Lennon did "The Ballad of John and Yoko" in 1969, but it was essentially a duet with his wife.
Ringo Starr in 1970 was the first to take a solo single to #1 with "It Don't Come Easy".

if your talking about after they official broke up in May of 1970, then it is Paul with McCartney as his album. If your talking when the band was together, some of the other people who have responded are correct base upon albums they made by themselves while still being the Beatles.

everyone got the singles listed, but george was the first to release a full length LP, all things must pass in 1970.

I am pretty sure it was George Harrison.
I hated the beatles. I find them really annoying.

john in 1968 with unfinished music no.1, but that was with yoko's help, so technically it wasnt solo, but she also helped with a lot of his other solo stuff too...
