Both. You need to live in the moment, but you also have to plan for the days ahead. You never know what the future holds. Planning for the future doesn't take that much time. Doing the right thing with your money doesn't mean working 24/7. That's all you really need for the future, in case you fall on hard times. And a good medical care plan. But most of all, don't forget to do and say the things you need to, where your loved ones are concerned, before it's too late.

I do a bit of both. Mostly I plan for the future, I have children, after all, and I need to be responsible. I do live for now once in a while because you have to have some fun in life! You know what they say, all work & no play makes Jack a dull boy!

A little of both, but mostly plan for the future. I have enough for now, but in the future, I don't want to have to do what I do now (work) every day. I want to be able to retire early, at about age 50, & travel to other countries.

See the future as you want it and live now in a way that supports your future. It's not one or the other. It's both. Enjoy the present but you create the future. It doesn't just happen to you. It happens FOR you.

Well, I live for now, and hubby plans for the future. Its the perfect balance. In other words, I get a budget every week, while he sets money aside for the future.
