Defending myself: This is not me, this is my friend confiding me on what her niece did. Her sister didn't know what to think. It was a 15 dollar thing, but I don't think that matters. I was curious about what parents would think.

It is worse than it would seem, not because of the dollar amount, but because I would imagine that it would be difficult for a parent to ever trust their child again, UNLESS it was something like the child trying to buy a surprise gift for the parent and not having any money. Oh, yeah: thanx to the other posters, because I also did forget to mention that it's illegal.

: )

You should never use your parent's credit card without their permission. Could get you in trouble, and not just with your parents.

I did once, she found out and didn't care. But that's my mom. It's actually a terrible thing to do, since when their credit card bills come in they check it over for purchases they didn't make (even if it's just $5). Also a terrible thing to do karma wise. If I was your mom I would say no. But if I was you... I would go for it. Hey, you only live once and getting in trouble is loads of fun.

It blows their trust in you, it is illegal and while tempting you should really think twice about stealing from your parents.
