you should not start with solids until 4 months! 4 oz every 2- 2 1/2 hours is normal! you are opening doors to potential food allergies and not to mention packing on pounds too fast for her little body! Please wait for solids. and start on rice cereal. there are no known allergies to rice that is why we start babies on rice cereal vs. other solids.

Well, I know I"ll probably get crap for this but at 2 months my son was the same way about nursing but he wanted to nurse constantly and cried if I took him off my breast I could barely get away to go the bathroom. He wouldn't take a bottle til recently and he's 6 months old and even now he won't get full off a bottle unless he keeps having one after another and he's a little guy. I started introducing rice cereal (which isn't suppose to cause allergies very easily my dr. told me) at 3 1/2 months. I just mixed it with my expressed milk or you can use formula. He did fine with the spoon and was happy when I gave it to him then nursed. I started giving baby food at 41/2 months and he's been doing great. No problems going the bathroom just healthy and happy. My dr. advised me not to since food allergies have become more popular but told me the baby's have been feed at muh early ages in their life and been fine. My mom and many people her age tell me they gave their baby's solids at 3 months and don't remember having to wait a week between foods and stuff. I don't have food allergies in my family and I know a lot of moms who feed their babies earlier than 6 months. They just don't get full off of breastfeeding or formula without having to constantly eat. I would just say first talk to your ped. about it or try and wait a lil longer a couple more weeks at least maybe and then introduce some rice cereal with formula before a feeding. Then solids like a month later.

Way to early... wait until she's at least 4 months, but maybe even 6 or 7 months to introduce any 'solids.' Solids meaning anything other than breastmilk or formula.

Up her bottle to 6 oz AND make sure you are mixing it correctly. If you aren't adding enough formula to the water the mixture will be too thin and not satifying her hunger (or nutritional needs).

You may want to set an appointment with her pediatrician to discuss feedings. It's hard to know exactly what to do with a new baby (especially if its your first) and a doctor should spend some time explaining things a bit.

Good luck to you!

baby food is not to be started until 4-6 months of age. The earlier the foods are introduced the more the increased risk of obesity, diabetes and allergies. There are good reason why they say to wait. Putting any food other than milk/formula in a bottle is a choking hazard. A 1 month olds tummy just can't handle baby food.

YIKES! Yes, thta is tooooo young. Starting solids this early ((before 6 months especially)) can lead to serious food allergies in the future. My mom has 4 kids including myself, and she gave her youngest brownie crumbs adn milk at 4 months, and he was allergic to eggs((just overcame the allergy recently)) and is DEATHLY allergic to milk. Your daughter may also become constipated. The food is too hard on her intestines - which are just now finishing developing.

If your daughter appears to be "starving", up her feedings to 5-6 ounces, and you should contact her pediatrician about starting rice cereal early, if she's eating 36 or more ounces a day.

Your baby's digestive tract is still developing, which is why solid food is off limits for now!

Birth to 4 months of age: he should have 6 to 8 feedings each day (18 to 32 ounces)

4 to 6 months of age: he should have 4 to 6 feedings each day (28 to 32 ounces)

6 to 9 months of age: he should have 3 to 5 feedings each day (24 to 32 ounces)

9 to 12 months of age: he should have 2 to 4 feedings each day (24 to 32 ounces)

Hope this helps:)

Sorry, i agree with everyone here - WAY TOO EARLY! She's probably having a little growth spurt, one of many! And of cause she liked it. It was new and different! If you were given crackers for a month straight then someone gave you a chocolate... you'd be over the moon!
I would not give her anything again. Her little tummy is not equipt to eat food just yet. And the last thing you want to do is make her sick.

this is way to early to be feeding solids. Increase the amount of formula or breastmilk you are feeding her per sitting. She may just also have the urge to suck, not necessarily eat. Try a pacifer to see if it works.
Solids are not recommended until 4-6 months, with a push for 6 months. Talk to your doctor, I really doubt he would encourage you to feed you baby solids at such a young age.

Its too early for baby food. Try giving her more formula at each feeding. She is probably going through a growth spurt and needs more formula now. Baby food shouldn't be introduced until at least 4 months old.

It is WAY too early. Even tho it seems like she is starving she isn't. It's just her very stong instinct to suck. She doesn't know when she is full yet. If you feed her real foods (even if it's liquid) she won't be able to digest it. She could develope an alergy, she could get constipated, especially with bananas! She only needs breast milk or formula. Not even water!
