Pay attention to something that they did that you like, even if it's small. Then tell them how much you liked it and why.

For example, I really like your question. Most people don't think about how important it is to praise others.

. It's something that does NOT come naturally! You should practice it. Read the books about "How to win friends and influence people".
Then do what feels natural. But it DOES take practice.
