I'm goin to spend Sept 16-28th in Renton, WA for some work training. Anybody have any suggestions on things to do/places to go? My weekends will be free and I'm willing to drive a few hours if something's worth it. I'm from Southern California, I'm 23 and down for pretty much anything. Local bars, music venues, parks, whatever. Let me know!

There's Gene Coulon Park, complete with a footpath, boatlaunch, beach, restaurants, tennis court, play area, and a bird island.
The Renton Public Library is a Renton landmark. When the city was being built, there was a question as to where to put the library in the fast-growing city. Someone joked that it would have to be built over the Cedar River, which runs through the city. The joke became a reality and they made the library double as a bridge.
There's also a footpath along the Cedar River which is good for nature-spotting.

Renton is in a great position to reach all areas of the Seattle region. Best of all, you can get just about anywhere by using the Metro transit system which has excellent service in the Renton area. This is a good thing especially if you plan on visiting downtown Seattle attractions.

When in Renton, the best thing to do is get out of it.
Go to Seattle and take the Victoria Clipper to the San Juans or to Victoria (need Passport).
If you want to visit Vancouver, British Columbia, you can take the QUICK express bus from the Seattle airport.
