I don't understand how Britain just told the jews that they could start a country where the Palestinians were living. The Palestinians had a government established and plus their was no fight for land.

Not to be funny, but did the western countries just draw a line on a map and tell the Palestinians to move or they were going to be forced out?

You have to go back to the 1914- 1918 WW1 to find the answer.
At that time Palestine was part of the Syrian province of the Ottoman Empire (the Turks).
The British were fighting the Turks in the Middle East

Britain was in financial trouble because of the huge cost of the war and needed lots of money fast from the international banking system which was controlled by Jews.
There was a political movement among Europeans of Jewish descent for a homeland to be established in Palestine.
This was called Zionism and was based on their ancient religious texts which claimed that their sky god promised them the land thousands of years ago but if you look at the small print you will see that even then they had to kill all the existing inhabitants.
To get the money they needed the British Foreign Secretary (Lord Balfour) promised the Zionists a homeland in Palestine after the war.
This was called the Balfour Declaration. It was never discussed by the British Parliament nor was the population of Palestine consulted.
It stated that the homeland would be established but must not affect the civil or religious rights of the christian and muslim arabs.
The Turks lost WW1 and their empire in the Middle East was divided up between Britain and France.
Britain received a mandate from the League of Nations to administer Palestine and allowed in some Jews on a strict quota basis.
The indigenous population objected to this after a few years because of the unreasonable behaviour of the immigrants and on several occasions rioted.
Then came WW2 1939-1945
Britain was again on the winning side but this time was financially and militarily exhausted.
Illegal Jewish immigrants started to arrive in Palestine from Europe and the British tried to keep them out because they were far exceeding their quota and causing unrest among the Palestinians with their behaviour.
There had already been a Jewish terrorist organisation active during the war which assassinated Lord Moyne in Cairo and now it grew fast helped by some of the illegal immigrants.
In 1945,46 and 47 the Jewish terrorrists carried out many atrocities against the British and Palestinians. The highlight being the bombing of the King David Hotel in Jerusalem.
They also killed the representative of the newly formed UN , Count Bernadotte.
The British had no answer to this violence as it was being funded by Jews in Europe and America so finally the UN decided to partition Palestine to stop the bloodshed.
Again the Palestinians were not consulted and they refused to accept the partition.
The British withdrew from Palestine in 1948 and immediately the Jews declared the State of Israel , attacked the Palestinians to grab more land and killed those who wouldn't flee. The Palestinians who left have been living in refugee camps ever since hoping to return.
So the State of Israel has remained the most successful terrorist state in the world and many of those terrorists became ministers in the new government.
As for the rest of the Middle East , you are are right about the straight lines. These were just drawn on a map by British civil servants in London to divide up the old Ottoman empire between Iraq, Syria ,Jordan etc taking no account of tribal boundaries or religious differences which is another reason that the region is so unstable.

Israel was established the same way all of the countries in the middle east with the exception of Iran were established. By either the old League of Nations or the United Nations. Actually the western powers after WW1 did draw a line in the sand to establish various countries that formerly were administered by the Ottoman Empire...the turks who managed to get on the wrong side of the issues in 1914. At the time, just as many Jews were living in that area as muslims, not to mention a large number of arab christians and several other religious and non-religious groups. After WW2, in 1947, the Brits created Jordan and appointed a 'king' in an area known then as 'Trans-Jordan'. Israel was created a year later out of a much smaller portion of Trans-Jordan. Nobody got screwed in particular..everyone got screwed alike. This is why we have a problem in Iraq...the Brits after WW1 created a 'country' that should have been three countries.....but at the time...who knew?

Actually the Palestinians had no form of government before the state of Israel was created.

In addition the area that Israel was to occupy had a Jewish majority. The Palestinians were to also have a state on the remainder of the mandate where they were the majority.

Sorry, but your facts are wrong.

The term 'Palestinians' originally meant Jews - they were the majority living in Palestine. 'Palestine' was the name the Romans gave to Judea. Jews have lived there for almost 4000 years continuously.

Mark Twain, returning from Palestine in the 19th century, famously reported: 'Apart from the Jews living there, there is nothing but a few wandering Arab nomads.'

In 1948, when the British and the UN settled on Partition, there were far more Jews living in Palestine than Muslims. This is objective, verifiable FACT.

Under Partition, half the land went to the Jews, half to the Arabs.

The Jews accepted the plan immediately.

The Arab world went beserk and rejected it; they stated clearly they would never permit a Jewish state, of any size, in their midst.

Note: there are 22 Arab countries, many of them large and oil-rich.
There is one tiny Jewish country, and she has no oil, and spends most of her budget on defence.

Within 12 hours of Israel being officially established, the neighbouring Arab states attacked - simultaneously. Remember, this was three years after WW2 and the Jewish people were decimated following the Holocaust. Now yet more Jewish blood was being spilled because of the Arab countries attacking.

During this war, Israel managed to push the disorganised Arab armies back and yes, of course she kept the bits of land she acquired - name me ONE country on this planet that gives back land to enemies who have attacked it!

If the Arab world had accepted Partition, there would now be a Palestinian state beside Israel.

It is not Israel's fault that the Arab world refused the plan, which was fair to all.

Bolshevik jews banded together from europe and around the middle east, invaded the land, killed countless women and children then proceeded to call the land "israel".

It is stolen land, that's why so many people hate them. Our government is run by dual-citizen Israelis who give millions of our tax dollars to them so they can continue their unholy war on civilians who threaten their little "homeland"

There was no "Palestinian" government, there was the British government. There were no "Palestinians" at that point, the "Palestinian" identity wasn't created for another 20 years.

The land in question was overwhelmingly owned by rich land owners from Turkey and Egypt. These men sold their land to Jews, usually at well above market price.

So whenever you hear Arabs whining about the creation of Israel.. remember that first they sold them the land, and then decided to kill off the people they just sold too.
