i need to clarify the reason this ordeal at my job started. i was a office manager and on the day i started i was informed the pay stated was decreased. i only worked there for 2 weeks. the problem was i came to work and wanted to do my job! i didnt gossip about my personal life. so she didnt know any thing about me. i was told that i am too private, therefor i could not be trusted. i was the victim of rude comments daily by the owner and told 3 times in this period that she dont want me to work for her. i was feeling ill one day and then asked if it was because my husband beat me! i was told that my friends could not afford her (florist) services.then i was given a saks bag and when i asked what was it for she told me i could give some one a gift and let them think i got it at a better place! then she denied every thing. and told me i made it all up. i was put in a file room the entire 2 weeks and told she doesnt think she will every let me on system. how was i to ever be successful?

In my experience (my own and that of my family members), working in a small business directly for an owner is the worst employee situation. Too often, they don't know how to manage employees effectively; they're exempt from most labor laws because they don't have enough employees; they can't separate business from personal because their business IS their life; personality conflicts are magnified because it's such a small environment. Move on.
