I’m sure you have enough issues without taking any more darkness into your soul.

You can turn a comment like this into an incredibly beautiful experience by being more Christ-like than the Christian who said it. Remember, if a Christian is truly acting in the spirit of Christ, they should only tell you your going to hell because they LOVE you, and would hate for you to actually wind up in hell.

So, with all the love and affection you can muster, say:

“You know, Christianity isn’t really my thing, but the fact you care about my soul..(Sincere emotional pause)… that really means something to me. It’s compassion like that that makes this world a better place. (beat) You keep the faith, dude/girl.”

This could actually wind up making the person your friend, even though they will still think you’re going to hell.

Of course, if you aren’t feeling like making a friend, and don’t mind going a bit over the edge…

With sincerity.

“This desire I have for women, really feels like it’s coming from a dark spirit. Would you be willing to lay your hands on me and pray for it to leave?”

If they hesitate say: “If you don’t think your faith is strong enough, I understand.”

If they lay their hands on you, wait for a moment, then gently take & move their hands somewhere inappropriate and say:

“No, I think the demon is here.”

A young prince decided to test the Buddha by repeatedly insulting him.

After many cruel comments, Buddha asked the prince:
"If you were to offer me a gift, but I refused to accept it, to who would the gift belong."

The prince replied. "Why to me, of course."

"That is correct." said Buddha. "So if you offer me an insult, and I refuse to accept it, does not the insult belong to you?"

Stash, you can either ignore them and be the bigger person, or you can get involved in a heated conversation, which will just leave you feeling worse because it's nearly impossible to rationalize with someone that homophobic and religious. It's just so much easier to walk away, to save yourself from potentially getting really hurt.

Or you could use humour to defuse the situation. Ask them if they mind if you bring marshmallows along to toast. Saying something like that might even confuse them, to the point they are speechless. Then you can just flip your hair over your shoulder and walk away.

Say "thank you for your interest in my well-being, but the last time I checked the earth is a sphere and there is no hell. Sorry to disappoint you." Turn and walk away. If they continue spouting off, put your hands over your ears and keep walking.

When I hear that kind of thing, I laugh and walk away.

Honestly, you will never every get a person like that to change their opinion. Why waste your breath, get all frustrated and pissed off for nothing? Just realize that they are a misinformed uneducated idiot and walk away.

Start singing "Yes...jesus loves me!" and walk away.

Or tell them to leave you alone.

Or tell them to shut the BLEEP! up.

Haha, or start praying that God doesn't hold their bigotry against them...lol

Someone totally walked up to me at lunch and said that when I was in highschool one day. It really made me upset, since I was already raised to believe that. This girl was insane, too. Just plum crazy. I wish people would get a clue. ::sigh::

Your best bet is just to ignore them. Of course, you can call them out on judging you, or go about listing the inconsistencies of scripture and whatnot, but they aren't worth wasting your time over.

I tell them "If people like you are going to be in heaven, and the rest of the lesbians will be trapped in hell with me, PLEASE send me to hell!" They dont seem to like that response though lol. I learned my lesson at SF pride this year, just keep your mouth shut because you dont want to end up in a possible physical confrontation : )

They should know that God doesn't differentiate from one sin to the other. They have sinned as well, and it makes them no better than you. Jesus wasn't judgmental. What makes them think they can be?

Ask that person, Where is Hell? And how would you know whether or not I am going to hell or not, has God appointed you to be in charge?

ask them

"did you know your god allows you to own a candian?"

or say

"talking against your parents, theft, lying, and adultry are all sins, once your guilty of one, your guilty of all, so you just as 'bad' as a homosexual"
