My power just shorted out and the microwave, dishwasher, heater, tv and radio were all in use at the time, my lights are working as they normally do when the safety switch turns the power off, but this time the safety switch isn't what stopped it so I am assuming it was a fuse. If it is a fuse then why is my computer the only working electricity apart from my lights?

Because you're on LSD! Just kidding.

You're computer has a battery. It's a laptop.

Computer may be attached to an UPS or uninterruptible power supply, which is essentially a battery. Either that or your computer is on a circuit that didn't trip. Running all those appliances tripped the breaker.

circuitry in home,s is divided just for this purpose.....so that when you loose power on one you still have the other......the problem is usually in the transmission line,s to your house....not in your breaker,s.....call your local power company first.....they will check it out for you....usually at no charge to you.....this is their line problem....not your,s....although it affect,s you....it,s their responsibility! good luck!.............you should check your fuse,s or breaker,s first!
