Your old P4 2.53Ghz is just a 59 watter. Then you put in that 82 watt P4 3.0Ghz. I suspect your PC has a teeny weeny power supply that could not support your PC. The new processor sucked all the juice, not much was left to power the video card. Try a bigger power supply, 350W at least.

True, it might be compatibility issuse where your motherboard doesnor like the processer.
1- check your motherbords support site and see if your board accepts new cpu or the cpu you got.
2- flash your main boards bios . Better yet check and see if there is any newer bios from the boards manufactor for the new processor you got.
good luck

Since the problem occured after upgrading your processor, replace the old processor.

Chances are that your new processor is not compatible with your motherboard.

Sounds like a compatibility problem. Problem is that your MB may fit your new processor, but your MB may not be able to run it. Or your RAM is not enough to run your system and video also.

Usually when you upgrade major hardware like that, you NEED to reload the operating system. Have you done that yet? And you may have killed your motherboard. Have you done anything before like this? I'm assuming you know your stuff.
Let me know if you've done anything like I just listed.
