I'm not asking about girl on girl porn with two blond bombshell types that's meant for men. I'm talking about true lesbian porn meant for lesbians.

I'm not asking for and perverted reason or because I want to see it. I was just having a conversation with someone and the question came up. Neither of us could recall having heard of such a thing. Besides neither of us thought lesbians would be consumers of porn.

I'm not asking for any links or explicit details, I'm just curious about whether such a thing exists.

Pornography has always sparked a great deal of controversy among lesbians. Traditionally rejected by lesbian feminists as an inherently male institution both violent and misogynistic, pornography has nonetheless been openly embraced by a faction of pro-sex lesbians (and so-called "do-me feminists") for the past two decades.

At the same time, there remains to this day a decided dearth of authentic lesbian pornographic film--which only emerged in the mid-1980s in the first place.

It is easy enough to find numerous woman-on-woman scenes in the majority of heterosexual pornographic films, of course; but these representations of all-female sexuality are generally so inaccurate, and so clearly geared toward a straight male audience, that very few could truly be considered lesbian.

The differences between lesbian-made and male-produced movies are easy to recognize: most pornographic films made by and for lesbians are, first and foremost, non-commercial, often with amateur actors and makeshift sets.

These films feature women of different sizes, shapes, colors, and gender identities--butches, stone butches, femmes, androgynes, etc. Many of these lesbians have short nails, short hair, and modifications such as tattoos and body or facial piercings.

In contrast, most "lesbian" scenes in straight pornography feature stereotypical male-fantasy women with surgical enhancements, uniformly thin bodies, and long hair and nails. Despite the identification of many commercial porn actresses as bisexual or polysexual, there is never a butch in sight in these movies

It was not until 1985 that the first pornographic film made entirely by and for lesbians appeared, well over a decade after the first gay male pornographic films emerged. The then brand new technology of video facilitated the making of two short films, Private Pleasures and Shadows, which were released together on one tape.

It definitely exists. Companies like Pink & White Productions, Dirty Pillows, Inc., Fatale Media, S.I.R. Videos, and a few others are all making some great real lesbian porn- the kind made by dykes, for dykes, and with butch women and tomboys as well as the femmes.

Of course, it's still not a very big industry . . . I'd say, being inclusive of everything possible out there, there's still only about fifty or so real lesbian porn videos- and that's being generous. Mostly, I'd say this is because women, on a whole, aren't big consumers of porn, or at least the industry isn't responsive to their wishes.

But yes, the number of real lesbian porn vids are growing, and they're definitely out there.

Yeah, we do. There are a ton of real dykes who love porn (I'm one of them) and a few of them become porn directors and make porn with real lesbians. The print magazine "On Our Backs" which came out in the eighties, I believe was the first rag to have wide distribution in the lesbian community. Today there's a lot more.
