I want to go to a school that is 6 miles away from my house. Is that too far?

I know this is the wrong section to post this question, but I didn't know where to put it. Sorry.

No way. When I was a kid, I went to a school that was 16 miles from my house. It wouldn't have been so bad, except that I had to walk all the way there. What's worse than that is that we lived in a swamp and the first 3 miles of walking were in knee deep water.

I would never make my kids go through that though. I have a brand new boat for them and they also have some of those fancy "walking" shoes. They're so lucky.

my cousins went to school where my aunt dropped them off and picked them up everyday and it was at least 15 miles away from home! i think 6 miles away is normal!

My great-nephew, who lives with me, goes to highschool 23 miles from my home. He has to catch the bus at 6:40 am and won't be home until around 4:30 pm. This is pretty typical for the area where I live in the rural areas of the Missouri Ozark Mountains.

if it's a better school then go for it! Six miles is not that far. It's probably only like 10-20 minutes away

If they'll be dropping you off & picking you up, it'll only take about 10-15 minutes or so, so that's not really far at all. I've gone to schools that were WAY farther than that away from my home.

: )

6 miles? I don't think that's wrong. As long as you like the school, and get the education you deserve! Lots of luck!

not really, it's a good stretch, but I had to take a city bus from Minneapolis then had to walk the rest of the way to my middle school in a suburban town called Fridallie...it was kind of fun... I guess I was more optimistic then...looking back now...it kind of sucked.

don't worry about your question, as long as it's not too deep into some other situation, you can ask it here (at least on my opinion)
