I'm an American English-language teacher in China. None of the restaurants I've heard of in the northeast serve cat. Some people eat a certain bread of undomesticated dog, but that mostly is popular with the Koreans. I've even been told by one student that the Chinese will not eat cat, horse, or rat. Still, I've heard that in other parts of China, cat is occasionally on the menu. However, by and large, the kind of meats we consider to be normal are most popular: beef, pork, chicken, fish, duck, and sometimes mutton.

I have never actually seen cat on a menu in a Chinese restaurant in the USA. I have, however, been served cat in Chinese restaurants in Hong Kong and in mainland China.

This is a response to Catch 153 The dogs are domestic, sometimes raised as pets, then hung from trees to slowly strangle in the belief this makes the meat tender. Occasionally as part of a family outing.

But through out the Chinese history. Chinese eat the human. From historic prospectus, sometime human flesh is worth less than the price of pork. Remember these historic accounts are few. If you really need me to translate them, I will.
