Not sure him leaving the company is it actually a good thing,then it will be easier for me to move on,we used to work together,all he ever did was to stare,but it led to nothing..If he was serious he would have asked me out right?So why should i care if he wants to leave,he surely doesnt!

Just because he leaves a place you both work at doesn't mean you cant see him..
If you are interested in him and he is single.. Give him your phone number and ask him to call.. Or ask for his phone number and tell him you would like to keep in touch.

Maybe he's just too shy to approach you so why don't you take the opportunity to tell him that you'll be sorry to see him go and ask if maybe he would like to meet up for a drink or something later on? Then you will find out whether or not he's really interested in you. If he is then his leaving will be a good thing because its not a good idea to date a colleague, and if he isn't then his leaving will be a good thing because as you say yourself, it will be easier for you to move on - it seems you can't lose really.

Plainly he does. No-one is twisting his arm. You may ha ve read more than was there.
You COULD take the initiative before he goes...what have you to lose?
