Is it possible to make edits in files existing in the pdf format?If so,how do i do it?

You'll need Adobe Acrobat Professional or any other software that allows you to edit PDF files.

It is easier to make changes, if you have the original document before it was converted to a PDF file. Convert it to PDF after you've edited the file.

Maybe - if the file isn't encrypted.
If you don't have Adobe Reader 8, download it.
Open the PDF file in Adobe Reader 8.
click the Help button
click Essentials
a menu of information will appear on the left side
it will explain everything

No -- PDF documents cannot be edited like a MS Word DOC file.

However, with proper software, (and no password-protection), you can insert pages, extract graphics, cut/paste text, etc.

Some special OCR (Optical Character Recognition) software can convert PDFs to editiable MS Word DOC files however.
