TO i heard is the 5th fastest receiver in the league. And last year he outright dominated by catching the most tds in the league. I dont think guys like Rice would be as good nowadays. Rice sucked in his last season. that just shows the nfl has bigger better receivers now. TO would have probably put up twice as many TD's as rice if he played in the age era. TO has awesome hands and the best body of any receiver ever. I dont think it's even close

No, he is one of the most talented receivers ever, but anyone who runs his own team in the ground (2 times), and who is such a distraction can never be considered the best at anything.
Super Bowls = 0
Championships = 0 (He was hurt & didn't play in the one that his team won in Phili)

The best WR ever would have to be J.Rice, as much as I can't stand him he is the best.

Most talented WRs ever
1. C.Johnson
2. R.Moss
3. T.Owens

P.S. The most talented players aren't always the best. Here are some examples of bottom of the draft & undrafted players who were one of the best at 1 time or another.
1. T.Brady
2. T.Davis
3 R.Smith
4. K.Warner

First, Rice did play in this era, and he did put up solid numbers. Rice also was 40 years old at the end of his NFL career. His first year with the Raiders he was over 35 and still putting up solid numbers.

TO is a great talent, but speed alone does not a wide receiver make. A good receiver is somebody a quarterback can trust, and TO led the league in drops. He even cost Dallas a game when he dropped not 1 but 2 TD passes. TO may be a hall of famer, but he is not the best receiver of all time. He is not even the best receiver in the NFL.

T O is uncoverable when he's physically right. He had more touchdowns than games played in Philly. Thats the unfortunated part about him being an idiot. He also caught a lot of flack last year because he dropped a lot of balls. No one seems to account for the fact he was playing with 2 broken fingers. I don't know where the previous answer got that he didn't play in the superbowl, because he came back early from a broken ankle and was the best player on the field He had 9 catches for 122 yds with a metal plate in his ankle.
All that being said, His personality outside of the lines is awful. Marvin Harrison has quietly gone about the business of being the best receiver in the league for a decade and all anyone talks about is TO or Moss or Chad Johnson. The guy had 143 catches in a season! 143! his touchdown at New England last year was the most amazing catch I've ever seen. The coordination and field awareness that took was unreal.

You are so wrong. Rice wasn't as good his last year cause of a thing called age. And To had more touchdowns last season, ok, he also lead the league in dropped balls. That means he dropped more catches than any other player in the NFL last year. He's no where near Rice's league. Rice is the greatest of all time. TO isn't even the best in the league right now. Marvin Harrison is better. Chad Johnson is better. Steve Smith is better. TO is afraid to get hit. Rice would never have lead the league in dropped balls.

Anyone who is afraid of catching over the middle cannot go down as the best ever.

The rules has changed to give WRs a clean release, if Rice in his prime played today he would tear **** up.
10-15 years ago, with how physical the defense was allowed to play (5 yd contact, leave ur feet to make a hit, etc.), TO wouldn't last 3 years.
Mike Irvin, now thats a great receiver, all heart, no sissiness.

Rice sucked in his last season because he was over 40 years old.... It's amazing you wouldn't realize how much taht would affect his game. Owens is playing in the parity (mediocre) years, Rice played when teams could pay whatever they wanted for whoever they wanted. But even without taking thingks like that into account, there is no question Rice was better than Owens.

TO couldn't hold Charley Taylor's jock. Let alone the likes of Rice, Elard, Largent. He's not even the best playing now. I'd take Johnson or Ward over him in a heartbeat.

He's not even the best in the game right now. Jerry Rice is the best reciever ever. And that comes from a BRONCO fan.

Well, if anyone had lingering doubts of your stupidity after seeing your username, this question will erase all doubts. You have very little football knowledge. Maybe, MAYBE, he makes the top 20. He isn't even the best receiver playing right now (Steve Smith).

TO is not even in the top 100 of all time as far as talent goes, he may be in the top 10 but because he is such a detriment to his team he cannot be considered as the g.o.a.t. (greatest of all time) unless he makes a more team cetered change he will eventually disapear from memory.
