That's tough! I kinda headed toward it when my first son was born. Then the second was born and I was being dragged into adulthood screaming and kicking (internally) then came the divorce and I headed back to childhood. When I got sole custody of my sons, that's probably when I reached a balance between being an adult and responsible for raising two sons; and being a kid able to play and enjoy life with them. Now my sons have sons of their own and have their own lives. I still tend towards being a kid at 55.

Adulthood and childhood are just a state of mind.

I did not become an adult until I was 29 and pregnant. I did not want to grow up. I did not have a worry in the world and I just acted like an immature kid. Once they told me the words "you are pregnant" then I no longer was a child and I became a mature adult.

Adult is different to different people. I think i was 23, and I moved into my first apartment. I learned how to live on my own. I did everything on my own. The only thing I didn't have was a job. But I used public transportation, to get places. I got money the same way a lot of people do who can't work. i paid rent, bills, did my own shopping, etc. I learned from my mistakes, I got to make mistakes. My parents weren't over my shoulder. It was awesome! I miss it. But I did resolve long ago never to act grown up...they're so serious. There's a time and place for that as far as I'm concerned. So yeah, i'm a grown-up kid.

I think in life we learn something all the time. When I moved out of home with other people to find dish washers are not around to wash dish.
Bit by bit I became more like an adult. Now I moved into a place by myself and catch bus everywhere, cook my own meals, paying bills. But still not great at keep my place tidy

Interesting question.
Depending on your perception of what is an adult.
By law - you are an adult when you are 18.
But I felt I was an "adult" when I was 28. that is when I felt I am "wise enough" and mature enough. At that age I looked back in my 20's and realised I was not as "adult" as I thought I was. I guess age and expereince tend to do that to you.
