Depends on what you mean by good :-)
The Macs are good machines, although I might have gone for a little more RAM on it - 512 is just the basic minimum these days - 1 GB or even better, 2 GB for most of the memory intensive applications that keep coming out.
For general purpose applications - web browsing, e-mail, etc, its fantastic.

Please do not listen to these PC bottom feeders who have no class. No I don't mean social or financial... But I mean class in knowing what good technology is...
2.0 Ghz C2D, Good
512MB, what Apps are you running? Going to 1GB will be great, this isn't a Windows shitbox, it doesn't require 2GB to access all features. Not that it has any good ones compare to OS X... 2GB is good for almost everything you'll do..
60GB?... Upping is going advisable or getting a FireWire external hard drive.
Mac OS X base?... perfect.
Macbook? wtf? Blackbook ftw lol.
To the lady who thinks her school is cheap and using Macs.. Wtf? If you care about your child's education what so ever then you'll have the slightest clue that Macs are the way to go. No other Windows distributor has given a child the tools to express his/her creativity and opinion. You see, Macs don't really need an IT department, your child doesn't have to wait for a tech to come by and fix that blue screen so your child can go back to his education. It doesn't interrupt the flow of education and creativity.
Seriously, do not downgrade to some low level Dell trash. Actually a Dell will cost more almost any PC will. I say the Mac is a bargain for what you get. Configure any WinPC to the same spec as a Mac then compare the price, include iLife in there as well. Mac OS X is worth a lot more than Windows Crapista.
Btw buy the RAM from Crucial or OWC.

Not really. Sorry. Your processor is ok, a little slow seeing as though it is clocked at only 2.0ghz, not to mention the lower FSB with that chip. Next, you have a pitiful amount of RAM in there. These days, 1 GB is the absolute minimum to effectively run programs, and 2 GB or more is optimal. Your hard drive cant really store that many files and still have room for spacious music files, especially those stupid AAC files that Apples is trying to promote. Mac OS X is fine, but it is being severely limited by your hardware. Upgrade RAM to at least 2 GB and then get a 120 to 160 GB hard drive to fit all of your files. Good luck.

Yes. It's the previous model MacBook -- identical in specs to the one a client of mine purchased a few months back.
I found it to be a nice little notebook. The 13" screen's a bit too small for my (older) eyes, but that's easily remedied by an external monitor. Keyboard touch is better than average. If you plan on keeping it, I'd upgrade the RAM a bit. Go to Crucial.com.
Since it can run the upcoming Mac OS X Tiger, I think you're fine. Enjoy.

it depends on your use of the computer, but the easiest way to really improve the performance is to increase your ram, but not over 2 gig of ram. the primary improvement will be the ability to run multiple programs at the same time.
important!!!! you can not put ram in that is faster than what's in there now. it'll work, but at the speed of the slowest ram, so get more of the 667mhz

Well, for work purposes, yes it's really quite good and should suit all your corporate purposes with no frustration whatsoever. However, on the gaming end of things, it's really lacking...shoot for 1GB of RAM and a 256mb video card...
Oh, and MACs aren't very good for gaming because so few games are produced for them...even though they ARE better computers than PCs.

Its below average i would say, if you have a laptop you want to get top of the line things because it is hard to upgrade them, you can't manually do it yourself and would have to take it to best buy. 2.0ghz is good and so is the processor
1gb of ram or more would be excellent
and a hardrive with over 100gbs would be great.

yes pretty good, because you got whats most important, which is your processer, core 2 duo is really good, but your computer is good. the ram is basic, but you can change it anytime you want to a 1gb or 2gb, and the hdd is good if your a basic cimputer user, but if you are a song or video type of person then at least 120gb hdd will be good for you, by its good, dont worry, your computer is up to date

go to www.pcpitstop.com to see how it rates against
comparable machines. i have a g-4 mac, a intel based and a couple amd based machines, and they all do well in the assigned tasks that i want and when needed. only you can be the judge of your own machine. if it does what you want it to do, whats the worry?
