A satelite dish will not work, or at least very well, wrong waveband.
What you need is a waveguide.
This looks weird but works, also commercially available if you want to buy one.

My uncle and I built a sweet wifi antenna -- its kind of parabolic in shape (we ordered from a website) and for about $50 we are pulling a connection 1.2 miles away. I'll try and find the website and mail it to you.

Look up the waveguide antenna, also known as the "cantenna"
