www.backstage.com - casting search
www.actorsequity.org - click on casting call

Not everything gets listed out to the general public so if you're in classes (which you should be) ask around especially if you're interested in a specific show. Just ask someone who doesn't breakdown for the same characters as you :-)

desires come real and something is fairly available. the fact is that through exorbitant fee of beginning a practice on broadway, little is left to risk. brokers have lengthy because of the fact submitted their shoppers with outstanding resumes, or a practice has lengthy in the past been deliberate around particular casting that open calls, or 'farm animals calls', are required by utilising fairness rules and ordinarily a formality. you're able to dream and dream huge-or you would be overwhelmed below the load of lots rejection. you would be nicely-served to get right into a respected studio to learn, consistently bypass on auditions for something and each thing-learn your craft so while a genuine risk falls into your lap you would be arranged and arranged for it. years in the past as quickly as I first moved to long island, i could not count sort the kind of open calls that began with 'all human beings below 5'6" and over 5'eleven" can bypass away'. that's a decrease-throat corporation that's ninety%+ approximately rejection. learn. audition, audition, audition. because of the fact the large zoe caldwell mentioned, 'i under no circumstances mentioned 'no' to any activity. i continuously discovered something.' domesticate pals, pals, get casting directors see you so generally that they bear in mind your face. a huge area of that's in who you recognize. and discover ways to take 'no thank you' till it purely rolls off your lower back. like i mentioned-an excellent sort of 'expertise' is being waiting and arranged while risk comes knocking. and in case you stick it out, probability is it is going to.
