nope not what that means ,it just means that baby is in correct position to come down the birth canal some babies come out breech (butt first) that poses various risks to the baby you do not want baby in breech position!signs of impending labor are
-baby has dropped into pelvic region
-dilation and effacement has occurred
-you pass your mucus plug or bloody show
-braxton hicks contractions (false contractions)
but sometimes those things dont happen until the day you go into labor! execpt for the braxton hicks which generally begin at the 7th to 8th month. i hope i was of some help to you good luck and congratulations :) oh and by the way just incase you didn't know your mucus plug is basically a plug closing up the cervix to prevent infection and such from entering the womb

head down means the baby is in the proper position for labor, but does not mean it will be happening soon. Most babies get themselves in the right position somewhere right around 32 weeks, and this is just a precautionary. The dr needs to know if the head is down, so when delivery comes, they know its one less thing they have to worry about.

Just be patient and if you and the baby are fine...you will definitely know when its time for that baby to come out :D

Good Luck and dont feel silly, new mommies are allowed to ask ALL questions :D

Mainly the head being down means that he's facing the right way to come out, vs, being breech. Most mom's babies are head down for the last months of pregnancy. That baby will come when he's good and ready.
By the way congratulations and make sure your getting well rested for the big day!!!

It means the time is coming closer. Babies are head up because they are developing. They later have the head down position because they are running out of space in that tiny place since they have grown so much. They are in the position to be born soon.

I hate to tell you this, but my daughter has been head down sense 20 weeks. Have you dropped? That would be a better indicator of if labor is coming. But even then, some people drop and don't even go into labor for a whole month after.

YAY it is one more step to having a baby but it doesn't mean that you will go in labor tomorrow or next week. Just means that things are going well.
You'll notice alot more pelvic pressure to the point that it hurts but unless it comes and goes it generally is just the baby pushed into your pelvis.
