I would like to know why, when Harry used the Resurrection Stone, did Albus Dumbledore not accompany him too. If you know, or have an assumption, please let me know.

Harry only saw the people he really loved and were close to him. Dumbledore was a good friend of his, but not as close as his parents, godfather, and one of his close friends and his favorite ex-professor.

In book 5, Dumbledore started pushing Harry away for various reasons. Harry thought of him as a father figure until book 5. Harry still harbored some anger and resentment for the situation Dumbledore left him in. Therefore at the end, when Harry needed support he turned to those people he knew would support him, his family. (Sirius was his godfather and Lupin was basically a close uncle.) Harry would not have thought about Dumbledore in that situation.

In the previous books Harry thought about bringing his parents and Sirius back from the dead. Harry just learned about Lupin's death. These people came immediately to Harry's mind when he used the stone.

It is a very interesting question, and not one addressed by JKR in the post-DH interviews, IIRC.

This is admittedly speculation, but I think it hangs together.

Harry feels the game is up. He has seen Snape's memories, in which Dumbledore says that Harry must die by Voldemort's hand. All through the book, Harry has wanted to speak with Dumbledore to get knowledge to defeat Voldemort, but there is no more knowledge (seemingly) to be had from Dumbledore.

What he wants is not knowledge, but comfort and love, to keep his courage up as he goes to his death. The four people he most wants at that point are his parents, Sirius and Remus.

He gets there with their support, and he does what he needs to do. It is only after he "dies" that he is in need of understanding again, and that is why it is Dumbledore who steps in.

That does not mean that Dumbledore does not love Harry as a son, I think he does; but Harry feels toward him as a beloved teacher, not as a parent or parent-figure.

I believe that only the people Harry trusted and loved returned. Harry obviously had doubts about Dumbledore throughout the book, but in the end, Dumbledore clarifies everything.

The stone would only bring back the people that Harry most loved and cared about. The original owner of the stone had the love of his life come back, some one who he cared about. His parents, who he never got to know, Sirius, who was like the ONLY member of his family that he ever knew, and Remus, who just named Harry the godfather of his son. So in a way, only "family" members came back, and Harry never really knew or had a real family. It was something that he desired the most.

I believe he called on those people he trusted and loved the most in his life. And just before his walk to the forest he learned dumbledore had been deceiving him, keeping his true fate from him. And although he admired Dumbledore very much, I don't think he had the same bond that he did with sirius, and lupin.

I was actually expecting to read about Fred too, but I guess that Harry chose to surround himself with the people he thought of as a family, and neither Dumbledore nor Fred are "family".

That doesn't explain Tonks, though...

this is a guess, but i think the stone only brought back who harry really wanted to come back or who harry chose to come back....as he was walking to his death, he wanted friends and family....and i think that harry might have been a little unsure of dumbledore because of the family affair that was exposed....so maybe harry didnt choose to bring him back. or maybe the stone brought back the people most on harrys mind, who i would guess were his parents, sirius, lupin and tonks, and probably not dumbledore

I was thinking that also about Fred. I think the only people who appeared were the people he really wanted to see the most. He had already come to terms with Dumbledore's death.

When Harry used the Stone he brought back the people who he truly loved and really wanted to see during the time he was about to die which was Remus, his parents, and Sirius.
