What to wear on the first day of school? It's just like any other day. It's just the first day of the year that you're there. And, why do people go out and buy NEW outfits for the first day of school? It all makes no sense to me.

Becasue its a first impression. when I used to live in Europe, the first day of school was 100 times bigger deal than in America. People dressed up in white, and had a reunion party or whatever. Here, you just come in everyday clothes. And you still think this is a big deal?

i understand the new clothes because i buy my kids new clothes at the begginig of each school year but i dont understand the not knowing what to wear its common sense and if you cant put together a cute outfit by yourself then you probably dont look good in cute clothes to begin with!!!

I understand where u r coming from, they be clean all week, and then the next week, BOOM they're back 2 wearing old clothes again, alot of ppl r talking about a new year, new clothes, but those material things don't make them pass their grades. I feel like alot more of these schools needs uniforms. FEEL ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I know what you mean. However, there is still that little butterfly in your stomach saying "This is another year!" For me, it's exciting, yet I'm not always obsessed over it all of august. Me, I just wear my normal clothes with maybe a new shirt, or new shoes. Just adding a little extra new shopping can say alot. I guess their just excited. =]

yea. actually it makes tons of sense. most ppl dont see all of their friends during the summer. so they just want to make a good impression and also to the teachers.
and you dnt want to walk in looking like a bumm. lol
but dnt you get new clothes for school anyways???
so whats the difference. ppl just want to impress.
and most of them like me save their new school clothes til school starts so i wont get them dirty.
