I cannot seem to get this formula to copy from one cell to several cells thru the column without getting errors. The "/" (division) aspect of it will not stay static. It changes with the cell reference.

well you need to make the cell reference absolute by making $J$3 (if that is the part you are trying to keep the same throughout)... whichever cell reference you do not want changed, you add $ before the column and row... you can also make it only column absolute or row absolute by only adding the $ before the column/row reference, respectively

=(D9*D10)/$J$3 will lock it to J3. You can use F4 while entering the formula in most spreadsheets on computers that have the key or just type in the $. If you want to lock the column but not the row, type $J3 or J$3 to lock the row, but not the column. It is called absolute addressing instead of relative. Relative addresses change when copied. Absolute change when target changes when columns/rows are inserted or deleted but not when copied.

using excel?
if yes copy and then paste special instead of using ordinary.
