i have a brother printer and a netgear wireless g router.
how exactly do i plug the printer into the router and make it accesible to my laptop which connects to the internet wirelessly?
and at the same time make me still able to print from my desktop which is plugged into the router to get internet?

It wouldn't be plugged into the router you would just setup a networked printer . you first need to setup a LAN then goto printers and click on the icon then pick network printer . you may have to have the driver disk if it cant find the drivers .
This is a simplified version of instructions .

If the Printer is wired network capable connect the printer using a RJ-45 or CAT5 cable to the router and install the software of the printer using the Printer CD.
If the Printer is wireless network capable Run the Wireless setup wizard on the printer and install the software of the printer using the Printer CD.
If the Printer is not Network capable and if the Router has the USB port connect the Printer using the USB cable to the router and install the software of the printer using the Printer CD.
Truely speaking contact the Printer Vendor to know if the printer is network capable or not. I am sure that they will be more helpful(as u did not mention the name or modelnumber of the printer).

If the printer is plugged into your desktop, you just need to mark the printer as "share-able". And give the laptop permission to access it over the network. You don't need to muck with the router at all.
