how can convince my dad to buy a new laptop so I can have his old one. he said he would give it o me when he gets a new one how can I make this happen faster.

1. Advertise the great new laptops at dell, hp, sony, gateway, toshiba. Tell him about the great new graphics processors, new intel santa rosa cpus.. etc etc
2. Be a good kid and ask him.
3. Ask the questioning youre asking right now to him.
4. Find some good deals or sales on laptops and tell him about them and tell him it's a good time to get a new one.
5. Get your mom or someone of authority over your dad to embarass him about his obsolete laptop. Let the male ego do the rest.
6. I seriously seriously don't recommend this. But if it seriously comes to it.. Sabotage his current laptop in a way you know how to fix but he doesn't/ Seeing that the laptop is dead.. he'll try to get another and after he gets the new one.. miraculously fix his old one.. but this is being dishonest but thought I'd mention it for fun. lol

Do some research. What does your dad do on the laptop? Is there something that he can't do with his current laptop that he wants to be able to do?
Basiclly the best thing to do would be to do the shopping for him. Find a pretty good machine that will do exactly what he needs to do. You will need to show him the benefits out way the cost.

Get a job and stop asking your parents for everything! Provide for your self! If you are too young to get a job then just stop complaining!

heck, you are lucky just to have a computer in the house and able to afford the service you have to get on line. why don't you get a part-time job and save and get your own? it would be better than getting an old computer.
